On the eve of the protest called by the opposition on February 8, the Tirana Regional Coordinator and Organizational Leader of the Democratic Party, Klevis Balliu, gave an interview to Politiko.al , where he shared his expectations for this rally, the scenario of the protest and the opposition's next steps.

Balliu is confident that the protest will have an extraordinary turnout and will serve as a clear message about the inevitable political change.

" It will be a protest with an extraordinary turnout, the scale of which will put an end to any doubts about the inevitable change on May 11 ," he said.

He emphasized the opposition's commitment to protecting the free vote and opposing what he describes as the "dictatorship" of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

He also addresses a call to all Albanian citizens, inviting them to become part of this battle for their economic and political rights.

" Come to the protest for your family, for your children and for your pocket!", calls Balliu.

Below, the full interview with Klevis Balliu for Politiko.al :

What are your expectations for the February 8 protest?

Balliu : It will be a protest with an extraordinary turnout, the size of which will put an end to any doubts about the inevitable change on May 11th.

What is the scenario of the protest?

Balliu : Vox Populi, Vox Dei (Voice of the people, voice of God).

If the February 8 protest does not bring the desired change, what are the DP's next steps? Are there plans for other protests or an escalation of opposition actions?

Balliu : We never retreat. Nothing is ruled out, but change is inevitable, I guarantee you that. Today the opposition is more united and stronger. We have received over 500 thousand votes without the seal, without the logo, even with our logo against and without any funds. Today we have at least double the support.

Mayor Sali Berisha has called this protest a battle for free voting and against the “dictatorship” of Edi Rama. How will this protest specifically help protect free elections?

Balliu : Where there are protests, dictatorship falls; where there is silence, dictatorship rises.

What message do you have for Albanians who are still skeptical about protesting?

Balliu : Look at your pocket, look at your electricity and water bills, look at your pensions and salaries. While Edi Rama swallows 33,600 euros for a bottle of wine, he declares that he has no money to increase your salaries and pensions.

Come to the protest for your family, for your children, and for your pocket!

Tomorrow, at 5:00 PM, join the protest for an Albania of Albanians, not for those in power!
