The Democratic Party's candidate for deputy in Vlora, Atird Hoxha, has seen firsthand the situation with the fire that engulfed the waste field.

Hoxha told the media that the situation is at a critical point, where the pollution caused by the fire is harming the health of citizens around the area.

Hoxha requested the intervention of the authorities to extinguish the fire and prevent toxic pollution, as well as an immediate investigation into the causes.

“The situation at the Vlora landfill has reached a critical point. In addition to the chronic pollution, which has damaged the health and well-being of citizens, we are currently facing an open fire in this area, seriously endangering the lives of residents and significantly worsening air pollution. This is not the first time that such a situation has occurred and, unfortunately, the indifference of the responsible authorities is leading us towards an unprecedented environmental and health disaster. The toxic fumes and pollution spreading in the city pose a direct threat to the health of citizens.

Our demands are clear and repeated:

1. Urgent intervention by relevant structures to extinguish the fire and stop the spread of toxic pollution.

2. Immediate investigation into the causes and those responsible for this repeated situation ," said Hoxha.
