Two Albanians arrested in Germany, one wanted in two countries

Two Albanians have been arrested by the federal police at the Altenheim border crossing in Germany. The driver of a car, a 36-year-old man, was found near the Altenheim border crossing. After the vehicle was stopped, the 33-year-old passenger fled. After a short pursuit, he was arrested, the police said in a statement.

During a check of his personal data, it was discovered that the 33-year-old was wanted on an international arrest warrant by Swedish authorities for 15 counts of theft.

There was also a national arrest warrant for theft, according to which the 33-year-old must serve 122 days in prison. Currently, the Federal Police assume that the two Albanian citizens entered federal territory to commit criminal offenses of theft.

The 33-year-old was sent to a correctional facility to serve the remainder of his prison sentence and will then be handed over to Swedish authorities. He will also be charged with illegal entry, the statement added.

The 36-year-old driver was given a five-year entry and residence ban and also faces charges of aiding and abetting illegal entry. He was later handed over to French authorities.
