"Corriere della Sera" has prepared a report from Shengjin, where Italian officers have been deployed as guards for the refugee camps that Italy will bring.

As the Italian media writes, based on the testimonies of the officers who are currently living in Shengjin, in a hotel, the conditions offered to them are minimalist. They complain about the service of the hotel where they are staying and the amount made available to them by the Italian government to spend on food.

Also, the Italian officers state that the accommodation is not sufficient as they are forced to stay in double rooms and even if the staff is increased, three people will have to stay in one room.

It is not yet six in the afternoon and the sun has sunk into the sea, coloring it deep red. The view is breathtaking as soon as you enter Rafaelo's yard, in Shengjin, in the north of Albania. From here, along pedestrian paths and well-maintained hedges, you head towards the various hotels and resorts of the giant hotel complex, modern apartment blocks and outdoor swimming pools.

The police are now in line at the Rafaelo Executive self-service restaurant.

It is here and in the Comfort hotel that the Italian police force is staying - police, carabinieri and financial police - engaged in the implementation of the Rome-Tirana protocol for the detention of asylum seekers across the Adriatic. About thirty of them are choosing dinner. Pasta all'arrabbiata and in a thousand other ways, pizza, tuna, various salads, various desserts, drinks, without alcohol.

"They should be entitled to single rooms, instead they are doubles and destined to become triples if the project goes ahead ," explains Gennarino De Fazio, a representative of the Uilpa union.
