Dani Alves is sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison for sexual abuse

Former Brazilian soccer player Dani Alves was found guilty of sexually abusing a woman and sentenced to four years and six months in prison on Thursday.

The decision by a three-judge panel in a Barcelona court followed a three-day trial this month. Alves denied any wrongdoing during the trial. He can appeal against the decision.

The court found that Alves sexually assaulted his victim in the early morning of December 31, 2022, when she said he raped her in a bathroom of a luxury nightclub in Barcelona.
