But apparently an important role for the immediate deportation to Albania of Plaurent Dervishaj and Julian Meçaj was played by the agreement signed in April 2024 between the former Minister of the Interior Taulant Balla and the Minister of the United Arab Emirates, which they predicted the deportation of Albanians wanted by the Justice in Albania for serious criminal offences.

Both deportees had a residence permit in Dubai, with the right to postpone it in the following years.

In December 2020, Plaurent Dervishaj was arrested and then released after the SPAK in Albania had declared him wanted for the murder of businessman Vajdin Lamaj, Artan Arsi and Klodian Saliu, events that occurred in February 2005.

But it didn't take long and again Plaurent Dervishaj, together with Julian Meçaj, was declared wanted for the murder of the citizen Andi Maloku, the attempted murder of the prosecutor Arjan Ndoja and Landi Muharrem, "Ensuring the conditions to carry out the murder of Andi Maloku's father ”, Theft, Cocaine Traffic, etc.
