He raped Egli Proga to death, the appeal leaves Denis Meçe in prison

The Court of Appeal of the General Jurisdiction in Tirana has upheld the prison sentence for Denis Meçe.

Meçe is accused of raping 42-year-old Egli Proga to death in Pogradec, an event that happened on August 10 of this year.

Denis Meçe, who is behind bars for this serious incident, requested the change of the measure from arrest to prison to a milder measure, but his request was rejected.

Meanwhile, the Court set an obligation to appear for Leonidha Guçe, Arjan Manellar and Voltan Shulku, who did not report the crime.

EVENTS

According to the evidence collected by the police, Egli Proga went to the bar where the incident happened, to drink.

Outside the bar, the author was with two others who were also drunk, while inside the bar there was a citizen alone, also drinking.

The victim was initially sitting with the person inside drinking with him and at this moment an argument started with the three citizens who were drinking outside when the killer approached asking for a cigarette.

The author got up from his desk and went to the victim to clarify what he had and the argument escalated. After that, the author asked them to come out and explain themselves, and when they came out, the author pushed or hit the victim, who fell down.
