Son convicted of prostitution, Tirana Prosecution seizes father's assets

The Tirana Prosecutor's Office has seized the assets of a Tirana person, as his income does not justify their purchase.

Specifically, the assets of I. Gj.'s father, who was convicted of prostitution, were seized. This convict recruited girls for prostitution and sent them to Italy.

It is suspected that the assets were invested with income earned from this activity.

"At the request of the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Tirana, the assets of citizen A.Gj., an apartment and two cars, were seized, as a person related to citizen I.Gj., who is the subject of a property investigation under the law 'On the prevention and suppression of organized crime'.

From the investigations conducted within the framework of property proceedings no. 81, year 2020, on citizen I.Gj., convicted and arrested for the criminal offense of 'Trafficking in adult persons' provided for by Article 110/a/2 of the Criminal Code, there are suspicions that the property acquired by him or his family members does not correspond to legal income.

This citizen, in collaboration with other persons, recruited girls for prostitution in the direction of Italy and after conducting investigative actions, in 2015, the Court of First Instance for Serious Crimes, Tirana, imposed the security measure 'Arrest in prison'.

From the investigations extended to the persons related to him, it resulted that his father, citizen A.Gj., with a negative bank balance, does not justify with his income the purchase of an apartment and two cars owned by him. These real estate assets are suspected to have been acquired by the person related to A.Gj., as a result of the involvement of his son I.Gj. convicted of criminal activity in 'Trafficking in adult persons'.

In view of the above, the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Tirana, requested the seizure of assets on behalf of citizen A.Gj as follows:

Real estate, apartment no. 3 with an area of ​​117.78 m2, “SANDY” Buildings LLC, Tirana;

Movable property, vehicle type “Renault Scenic”; and

Movable property, vehicle type "Lancia Musa" , announces the Prosecutor's Office.
