Fredi Beleri: The fight with Edi Rama made me an MEP

MEP Fredi Beleri has stated that he won the position he holds today in the European Parliament thanks to the fight that Prime Minister Edi Rama announced when he was running for Himare municipality.

Invited to Euronews Albania, Beleri said that the merit for his election as a member of the European Parliament also belongs to the judges and prosecutors who, as he said, made a case that has no truth in it and that was evaluated as persecution by the Greek people.

"I was in prison for 16 months, when a person goes through a problem it's like he never had it, I was in prison, I got out, now I'm a member of the European Parliament, I never dreamed of it nor did I intend to. I and some other Himarjos wanted to win the municipality of Himara so that we could work for our country.

The unprecedented attack of the prime minister, the way justice was used by him, I managed to be an MEP today. Not only the prime minister has merit, but also the judges, the prosecutors who, under his orders, made a case that you have nowhere to grasp, that has no truth in it and this injustice, the prime minister and the Greek people understood that this persecution was unjust and more they voted for the MEP" , Beleri said.
