The gender pay gap in Albania, men are paid more than women for the same work

Albania continues to have a gender pay gap. Men are paid more than women for the same work done.

In 2021, Albania has an average gross salary of 57,191 ALL per employee. The fact that in 2021 in RSH the minimum wage limit was increased from ALL 26,000 to ALL 30,000 must be taken into consideration.

In a more in-depth analysis of the average salary according to the defined economic activities, it results that the best paid sector is the sector of financial and insurance activities.

In this sector, men received an average salary of 125,890 ALL, while women earned 105,532 ALL.

The second best paid category appears in information and communication activities, where men received an average salary of ALL 91,126, while women earned ALL 80,579.

The sectors in which women seem to be better paid on average are the construction and public administration and defense sectors; compulsory social insurance; education; health and social work activities.
