Wanted for drug trafficking and criminal organization, 43-year-old Ergys Likaj

Police have arrested this Sunday citizen Ergys Likaj, 43 years old, who is internationally wanted for drug trafficking and participation in a criminal organization.

His arrest was carried out in Pogradec, as part of the police operation codenamed "Operation 27", conducted by the Special Operations Force (Fast Albania), in cooperation with Italian counterparts.

According to the official Police announcement, the Court of Rome sentenced Likaj in 2016 with the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Criminal organization" and "Drug trafficking", provided for in the Italian Criminal Code.

Following the arrest, Interpol Tirana is cooperating with Interpol Rome to complete the extradition procedures for the 43-year-old to Italy, where he will face justice.
