Set up by a criminal group, a drone is prevented from entering Burrell prison

The Albanian prison system, in close cooperation with the law enforcement bodies, has once again shown its readiness and full efficiency in preventing the illegal activities of structured criminal groups. Recent attempts to use aircraft for illegal purposes have been neutralized in real time.

The operational intelligence of the system has administered reliable data on the plans of a criminal group to introduce prohibited items into the Institution of Execution of Criminal Decisions Burrel. In response, immediate measures have been taken, using advanced digital technology, to prevent any attempt to achieve their criminal goals.

The captured drone did not contain prohibited items, but investigations show a tendency for criminal groups to take footage from inside high-security prisons in order to gather information on further illegal activity.

Currently, the flying device will undergo dactyloscopic examination in order to identify papillary prints, and then computer examination to identify the IMEI number and any information managed by this device. The first procedural actions are being carried out, and the relevant materials will be referred to the respective prosecutor's office.

In close cooperation with the prosecution, the State Police and other intelligent structures, intensive work is being done to fully document the event and arrest the accomplices outside the prison regime.

The Albanian prison system remains committed to maintaining the order and security of its institutions, constantly improving security measures and technology to deal with any potential threat.
