The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana has completed the investigations against the former President of the Order of Dentists, Nikoll Deda, taking the case to court on the charge of "abuse of duty". The investigations carried out within the framework of the criminal proceedings no. 1630 of 2024, have evidenced that Deda has allowed the employment of persons without criteria, including his family members, in order to manipulate the decision-making of the National Council of Dentists since 2016.

According to the Prosecution, Deda has created a "climate of private possession" by concentrating in his hands the control over the functions of the regional councils, including the administration of the budget of the Order of Dentists at the district level and the provision of licenses for the exercise of the individual profession.

In the announcement of the Prosecution, it is also emphasized that, despite the suspension from office, Deda has continued his activity in violation of court decisions and legal provisions. He is suspected of having carried out important financial transactions, including the purchase of a building worth 700,000 euros with an area of 350 m² and obtaining a loan of 250,000 euros for the "purchase of premises".

The prosecution declares that Deda's actions violated the purpose of law no. 127/2014, which regulates the legal and ethical-professional relations of dentists. Deda is also accused of continuing abuse of office by further concentrating powers in his hands, even though he is on trial for another case under the charge of abuse of office.
