Republican candidate for the US Congress: The arrest of the opposition leader,

The Republican candidate for the American Congress, Jason Emert, has described the arrest of the opposition leader Sali Berisha as unjust.

Invited to Syri TV, Emert declared that a dictatorship is being installed in Albania.

He harshly criticized the State Department and stressed that DASH should not intervene and determine what is right for other countries. He expressed the belief that issues related to Albania and the region will be considered by the new administration of Donald Trump. 

Emert :  It seems that in Albania there is a very unfair criminal prosecution of the leader of the opposition and there is a strong opposition from the media and other people who are prosecuted simply because of their opposite opinion to the government. You depose a media leader and an opposition party, and the government illegally goes after these figures. And Albania shows what kind of dictatorial regime it is establishing.

I think DASH should not intervene and determine in foreign countries outside the USA what is fair and what is not fair and what should be prosecuted and what not. Former President Barack Obama's administration has often intervened in states where it is thought to have an ideology it would not like. DASH does not speak for the American people. We want an open discussion with the countries of the Western Balkans and especially with a NATO ally such as Albania. We want open and transparent journalism to prevail in that country .
