Albanian arrested in Germany after being caught with 1 kg of cocaine

"Safe City" forces arrested a suspected cocaine dealer in Essen city center.

The Albanian was sent to detention with deportation because he is staying illegally in Germany.

As police spokesman René Bäuml reported on Wednesday, the police had information that the 31-year-old was dealing drugs. They were able to observe the suspect repeatedly entering and leaving two apartment buildings on Gänsemarkt and Kastanienallee, apparently to then do business with potential customers.

After he got into an Audi A5 with a 26-year-old, officers searched the vehicle and the people traveling in it. In addition to 620 euros in cash, investigators also found two identity cards belonging to the 31-year-old. An initial examination raised suspicions that the documents were forged.

Since the 31-year-old is required to leave the country and is staying in Germany illegally, the Immigration Office in Essen has been contacted.
