Search for Dutch tourist on Osum River, Rafting President: Hard to find body

President of the Albanian Rafting Federation, Zamo Spathara, has told how they found the Dutch tourist the day before, in the canyons of the Osum River.

Spathara, in an interview for Report TV, said that they gave first aid to 64-year-old Helma Schurmmans, and then went to search the places where they thought her partner Jules Schurmmans, 68, the body of which has not yet been found.

According to Spathara, there is a high risk that his body will be submerged in water and that it is difficult to find it.

' We know where the risk is and thanks to our strong regulation we have been able to maintain such a standard without loss of life. Yesterday was a very difficult day.

We were yesterday on our activities and happened to see a lady who had stopped by the river and was almost exhausted and in the last stages of life. We took it and put it on with our clothes. Now that there is a lot of water you should be wearing thermal clothing to maintain a constant body temperature. There must be a spacesuit.

We found him by the river, he was in a difficult condition. After he recovered, we took him, escorted him and gave him first aid. Soon we headed towards the canyon and found nothing. We looked in all the places we thought we could find him. Now we think that the body has sunk under the water and it is difficult to find it," said Spathara.
