Christ is Risen! Orthodox and Catholic believers celebrate Easter today across

Orthodox and Catholic believers across the country celebrated the resurrection of Christ at midnight Easter mass, the most important day in the Christian festive calendar.

This year, Easter for all Christian believers, Catholic, Orthodox, or even Protestant, falls on the same day.

On the holiday of Easter, they celebrate the resurrection of Christ, a moment that symbolizes the rebirth of hope, the strengthening of faith in God for all believers, the transition from the temporal to the eternal, and the liberation of people from sin.

In Tirana, masses were held at the Catholic Cathedral "St. Paul" and the Orthodox Cathedral "Resurrection of Christ".

At 10:00 PM, the celebration began at the "St. Paul" Catholic Cathedral, where Archbishop Arjan Dodaj delivered a message for peace and protection from war.

"O Almighty and Eternal God, protect us! So that the church may see what we have believed. Do the best for us, our Lord. You raise up the one who has fallen and you protect the one who is in the fight. Amen!" he said.

At 11:00 PM, the celebration continued at the Orthodox Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ. The Mass was led by Archbishop Joan, who gave a message of hope.

"On this holy day, we are all invited to participate in this joy. We have the assurance that His love is stronger than hatred and that our hope in Christ is stronger than despair. Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. If the light of resurrection is lit, relationships between people will also be illuminated. Sacrifices are necessary for our spiritual healing.

"Perhaps today more than ever, our world needs the message of Easter. The resurrection of Christ promises us a different future. He has made us partakers of His resurrection. Sacrifice, like blessing, is not easy, but it is necessary ," said Archbishop Joan.
