The new tower in Shkodër, the PD branch reacts: We will not allow the SP gang to destroy our heritage and identity

The construction of the 100-meter high tower that will be built by the city of Shkodra has been described as a destructive project by the PD branch in Shkodra.

The deputy head of the PD branch, Irena Shestani, said that no public hearings were held for the project and there was no review by experts.

Dear citizens of Shkodra,

Two days ago, the Prime Minister and the imported Mayor of Shkodër presented the destructive project of the concrete monster: a 100-meter high tower that will be built in the historic heart of our city. The government that brought the greatest discrimination among Albanians to Shkodra of culture and knowledge since 2013, presents itself to us today with this monstrous project, which, like the popular power of the communists, has only one goal: the destruction and erasure of the collective memory that Shkodra families have preserved for generations.

At a time when the people of Shkodra are facing mass immigration, entrenched poverty and widespread corruption, this tower is cynically presented to us as the solution to our city's problems. This is the true face of the Socialist Party! Taxpayers' money is spent on propaganda and facade, while aiming to destroy the deep-rooted identity of our city.

Dear fellow citizens, the tower project flagrantly violates the Local General Plan approved by KKT on October 16, 2017. This project has not been examined by experts and has not been brought to public hearings where the voices and concerns of Shkodra citizens should be heard, which , as we have all followed these days, are numerous.

Is this the future we see for Shkodra? Is urban carnage what we want for our beloved city?

Shkodra has a tradition that cannot be lost, that should not be lost and should not be lost - said the great Shkodra resident, Arshi Pipa.

We, the citizens of Shkodra, will not allow the gang of the Socialist Party to destroy the precious heritage and identity of our city.

On behalf of the Democratic Party, I call on all proud citizens of Shkodra to join us in this vital battle to protect the heritage of our city. Shkodra is ours, and together, we will protect it!
