Petrit and Vezire Elezi, 56 and 48 years old, have been released by the Halkida Court in Greece, after they were arrested on charges of leaving their autistic son in a car under high temperatures, who died.

In the held session, the court decided on the security measure "obligation to appear" once a month. The couple was defended by lawyer Vasilea Oikonomou. 

The two parents said they are devastated by the tragic event, noting that the 23-year-old loved to spend time in the car and always had the windows open while they brought him water and food.

According to sources, the temperature was very high and the 23-year-old stayed inside the car for at least three hours.

As soon as they landed, his parents opened the car and took him first to the Aliveri Health Center and then to the Halkida Hospital, where his death was simply confirmed, which may have been due to heat stroke.
