Greece was shaken yesterday evening by a horrific domestic crime. A 39-year-old Albanian man killed his wife with a hammer and then hid the body in the attic. It was the Albanian himself who reported the crime to the police.

According to Greek media, police have found the hammer with which the young man physically raped the woman before finally strangling her. The 39-year-old had hidden the hammer in the attic where he had been keeping the woman's body for days.

The man told police officers that he killed his wife out of jealousy. He said he punched her several times and hit her with a hammer while the children were at school. The cause was reportedly a phone call the woman received from her friend while she was in the bathroom to talk to him.

The 39-year-old man heard the call, became angry and decided to kill her. He said that his wife was cheating on him with his best friend.

“I was blinded by jealousy and killed her,” he is said to have claimed. At first, the Albanian thought about taking a sheet and hiding his wife's body in their room, but decided to put it in the attic.
