Fredi Beleri appears before the Special Court today on charges of vote-buying

The mayor elected on May 14 in Himarë, Fredi Bleeri, will appear before the Special Court today.
Beleri is in prison under the charge of buying and selling votes. The session in the Special Court is expected to start at 13:00. The judge who will examine the request is Atlanta Zeqiri, while SPAK will be represented by Dorina Bejko.
The case was referred to the Special Court after the Court of Vlora declared incompetence.
Beleri was arrested two days before the May 14 elections, where he was declared the winner for the Municipality of Himara. His arrest has brought numerous reactions from Greece, which has threatened Albania that it will prevent its integration into the EU, if Beleri is not released.
