WHO: 60% of the population must be immunized to block COVID-19

The World Health Organization said that in order to reduce infections, about 60 or 70% of the population should be immunized against COVID-19.

This level of immunity is based on a series of studies, said the director of vaccines at the WHO, Katherine O'Brian during a press conference held on Friday in Geneva, reports Dpa.

She stressed that the current level of immunization needed for this pandemic will become even clearer when there is more data about coronavirus vaccines.

In addition to information on how effective anti-covid vaccines are, according to O'Brien, asymptomatic individuals will remain a challenge.
