Bargaining with military properties, Prençi: The state is being held hostage by the oligarchs

Bargaining with military properties, Prençi: The state is being held

The Albanian army is one of the largest property owners in the country. It owns thousands of properties ranging from warehouses, depots, factories, plants, military units, air and naval bases with incalculable financial values.

Regarding this, Shemsi Prençi on 'MCN Economy' stated that the strategic assets of the Albanian army are being implemented.

He said that during the DP era, all ammunition that could be used for defense was destroyed, while emphasizing that Albania is the country with the weakest defense.

According to him, we do not have the air capacity to even put out fires in peacetime and that the state is being held hostage by the oligarchs.

On my personal behalf and as a former senior military officer in the Ministry of Interior, I want to thank Meçollari as the only one who has felt sorry for military property because he is the only one who has physically and procedurally denounced, providing incontestable evidence, SPAK and Albanian justice for the devouring of strategic properties of the Albanian army to make them available to the oligarchs. The Prime Minister has acted with Albania's properties as if they were his father's properties.

The recent strategic properties affected by this government, starting from the Gulf of Vlora, which is of strategic importance not only for Albania but for the region, to the port of Saranda and many other ports that Albania would be very comfortable with because it is impossible to contribute financially to them with money.

It has recently been proven that the weapons dismantled during the DP era are being used in Ukraine and Russia today, so we have always managed to thwart dismantling and then manage to give the most important military bases of a state to private individuals, to oligarchs, to do business - this is what our governments can do.

I was initiated by Meçollari's courage to join in denouncing this major problem for the country and by the interpretation made by General Dedë Prenga, who argued that these objects should not be removed from the Albanian army because they are important.

With the arrival of the new president, work has begun to adapt and build tourist facilities, but this is a very big crime. For me, the oligarchs and the two political forces have something in common. I have noticed and I notice every day that the oligarchs have it together and they do defense together, and what worries me is that Albania has become the weakest state and the weakest army.

A prime minister who has no concept of national security and is more interested in protecting the tourism strategy of his oligarchs than the importance of his state, but Europe has raised the alarm for the establishment of protective measures. Albania should not only be a contributor, but should also be concerned about the protection of the Albanian state.

The Prime Minister is inclined to leave the Albanian army naked from all points of view, human, technical and why not combat capacities because we are the only country in the Balkans that has invested very little of any country in the region, less than Kosovo. The Albanian state has not been able to raise a helicopter for extinguishing fires for five years.
