A shocking incident has occurred in Northampton, UK, when a 32-year-old Albanian, Olsi Ceka, hit two pedestrians with his car, causing serious injuries. The incident occurred on the afternoon of September 28, 2023, when Ceka, driving a blue Peugeot 5008 GT that he had rented a few days earlier, deliberately hit a boy and a girl as they were walking along Black Lion Hill.

According to court records, Ceka targeted the victims after a verbal argument between his girlfriend and them earlier that afternoon. About half an hour later, he saw the pedestrians walking on the bridge near Northampton train station and hit them with his car, leaving a serious impact: the 22-year-old suffered a broken ankle, while the 25-year-old suffered multiple injuries. Both victims were immediately taken to hospital for treatment, but fortunately, their injuries were not life-threatening.

Following an initial appearance at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on 28 October last year, the case was committed to trial, and Olsi Ceka appeared again on 27 January this year, pleading guilty to four charges relating to the incident. On 11 March, at Northampton Crown Court, the court handed down a final sentence of a total of 49 months imprisonment.
