Gunfight in Italy, Albanian injured

Gunfight in Italy, Albanian injured

An Albanian citizen was injured on Saturday evening in Italy after gunfire.

Three people were involved, one of them a 25-year-old man who was injured by gunfire. He was treated at Mirano Hospital and is out of danger.

The person who shot him is suspected to be a 37-year-old Albanian and with him was a 33-year-old Eastern European (his citizenship, which is in a former Yugoslav state, is being verified).

The weapon with which the Albanian was injured has not been found so far. The three, who live in the Venice area and have criminal records, had a conflict shortly before 20:30 on Saturday. An argument broke out between them in the parking lot of the supermarket in Orgnano, Spinea, while several families were finishing their shopping before the store closed at 21:00.

Many people, terrified by the shooting, turned to take shelter inside with their children, while the carabinieri surrounded the outside parking area. Both were missing. The injured man had arrived at the hospital on his own.

To get to this point, we have to start from the big fight between the men who had started arguing just a short distance from the entrance to the supermarket. The voices were very loud and at that moment two of the Albanians put their hands on each other and the fight continued for a while until they managed to separate them and take them away and it seemed like it would end like that.

For a while, things seemed calm. Some of them entered the supermarket, but those who remained outside went to get a crowbar, and when their rivals came out, they were surprised by the beatings with sticks. At that moment, one of the victims ran to a car, took the gun from inside and started shooting at the 25-year-old, hitting him in the leg. The shooting did not have any irreparable consequences only because the bullet did not hit the 'target'.

Carabinieri from the Spinea station surrounded the area as customers and families who were leaving turned to take shelter.
