Paul Pogba is suspended for 4 years from football

Juventus and France midfielder Paul Pogba said he was "sad, shocked and heartbroken" after being banned from football for four years for doping.

The 30-year-old was provisionally suspended by Italy's national anti-doping court in September after testing positive for testosterone after Juve's Serie A match with Udinese on 20 August.

Pogba has responded with a statement on social media saying that he has "never knowingly or intentionally taken any supplement that violates anti-doping rules."

He also said he will appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport against the ban.

"Today I was informed about the decision of the Tribunale Nazionale Antidoping and I believe that the decision is incorrect. I am saddened, shocked and heartbroken that everything I have built up in my professional football career has been taken away from me. "When I am free from legal restrictions, the full story will become clear, but I have never knowingly or intentionally taken any supplement that violates anti-doping rules ," Pogba said.
