Opposition protest, German media "ZDF": They demanded the resignation

The national protest of the opposition was echoed in the foreign media, as an uprising of the Albanian people against the corruption of the Rama government.

The well-known German media ZDF writes that the protesters called on Prime Minister Edi Rama to resign, accusing him of corruption.

The leader of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha, who has been under house arrest since December, addressed the demonstrators via video link.

"Today we started our fight to end the dictatorship of Edi Rama, which is a real danger", said Berisha. He accused Rama of "political attack" on his family and corruption.

ZDF writes that some participants threw Molotov cocktails and stones towards the government headquarters, around which the police had set up a security cordon. There was no damage or injuries.
