After the merger of the Academy of Albanological Studies, the government has delegated a large fund to the Academy of Sciences, which will now be one with Albanology.

According to the decision published in the Official Journal, the members of the Academy of Sciences will be awarded monthly, depending on the titles.

Permanent monthly rewards range from 100,000 ALL to 70,000 ALL per month. While the total fund given to the institution is 15,900,000.

DECISION

No. 302, dated 17.5.2023 ON THE DETERMINATION OF THE MEASURE OF THE PERMANENT MONTHLY REWARD FOR THE TITLE OF MEMBERS OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE ACADEMY OF SCIENCES

In support of article 100 of the Constitution, point 3, article 14, of law no. 53/2019, "On the Academy of Sciences in the Republic of Albania", and Article 14 of Law no. 84/2022, "On the 2023 budget", with the proposal of the Minister of Finance and Economy, Council of Ministers

DECIDE:

Members of the Assembly of the Academy of Sciences benefit from a permanent monthly remuneration, for the title "Academic", in the amount of 100,000 (one hundred thousand) lek, and for the title "Associated Academician", in the amount of 70,000 (seventy thousand), even if receive the status of "Emeritus" member.

The awarding of the reward, according to point 1 of this decision, is carried out by the Academy of Sciences and is covered by the annual budget, approved for this institution.

To the Academy of Sciences, in the approved budget for 2023, a fund of 15,900,000 (fifteen million nine hundred thousand) leks is added, which is covered by the contingency fund of the 2023 budget.

Decision no. 399, dated 27.3.2008, of the Council of Ministers, "On the approval of the measure of remuneration of regular members, permanent members and associate members of the Academy of Sciences", amended, repealed.

The Academy of Sciences is charged with the implementation of this decision.

This decision enters into force after publication in the Official Gazette and extends its financial effects from June 1, 2023.
