Doctor Erion Dasho, who lives in Germany and leads the work in the field of Digital Health and Innovations with collaborations around the world, commented on the latest WHO data on Albania, the fact that not the State Budget, but the Albanians themselves pay 60% of health care expenses.

" The pandemic simply showed the true "face" of the health of this Renaissance government. So, during the ten years of the Renaissance, health has only gone down and down; there was no care for the health and life of the citizen. All of us are witnesses that the only care for the Renaissance is the pockets of the oligarchs, because through those four infamous concessions there are already about 500 million euros that he transfers to the pockets of the oligarchs by buying services at inflated prices, as the High Control has found of the State, as the Prosecutor's Office is now verifying, and almost all concessions are under legal prosecution at the moment.

But on the other hand, more than the Albanians' pockets, they have damaged their health: there are about 200 million euros that were spent out of pocket during the pandemic. 100 million only in private hospitals, which have benefited during this time, and let's not forget the treatment at home, the treatment abroad... Let's not forget "Tiret", then, which also managed to make the sanitariums millionaires during the pandemic.

So, we have a catastrophic situation, which the pandemic pointed out, but which was a situation that had been getting worse for ten years, because no reform has been made in these ten years. Albanian health needs deep reform to affect all elements of its operation: to affect management, by introducing hospital autonomy, which has already become barsalete with the Renaissance that in every electoral campaign, autonomy is promised and then nothing is done; autonomy has been promised since coming to power along with free healthcare.

Instead of making structural reforms, parasitic health operators are created, which have nothing to do with the health system, according to which Albania has developed, with what is called the Bismarck model based on health insurance.

DRGs have not been introduced to this day and, with digitization, it is a disaster. So, we are the only country that not only does not benefit from the digital transformation and the contemporary trends of digitization in health, but we have left health as it was in the time of papyrus when doctors fill in the cards by hand and there is no question of digitization and modern methods development." said the doctor on SYRI.TV.
