Price increase, INSTAT releases the figures: Electricity and gas lead, transport

 

The Producer Price Index, for the first quarter of 2023, reached 129.5 compared to 2020.

Compared to the first quarter of 2022, the Production Price Index increased by 9.4%, a year ago this change was 17.0%, according to INSTAT figures .

The biggest price increase, compared to the first quarter of 2022, was observed in the "Electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioned" section, where an increase of 18.3% is seen. Followed by "Extractive Industry" with 13.0% and "Processing Industry" with 7.0%.

The largest increase in prices within this section was recorded in the activity "Printing and regrouping of recorded media" with 25.4%, followed by the activities "Manufacturing of wood and wood and oak products, except furniture; production of articles made of straw and reed" with 15.1%, "Production of non-metallic mineral products" with 13.2%, "Other transport equipment" with 11.4%, etc.

While the biggest decrease in prices is observed in the section "Production of means of transport, trailers and semi-trailers" by 4.0%, followed by the activity "Processing of coke and refinery of petroleum by-products" by 2.8%.

Index of Production Prices of products for the domestic market

Compared to the first quarter of 2022, the index increased by 9.3%. The biggest increase in prices is observed in the section "Extractive industry" with 21.3%, followed by the section "Processing industry" with 10.8%, the section "Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning" with 6.3% and the section "Water supply, waste treatment and management activities" with 0.4%.

Index of Production Prices of products for export

Compared to the first quarter of 2022, the index recorded an increase of 9.1%. The biggest price increase was recorded in the "Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning" section with 34.7%, followed by the "Water supply, waste treatment and management activities" section with 15.7% , "Extractive Industry" with 4.1% and the section "Processing Industry" with 2.7%.
