On February 4, 2022, the Appeal of the Court Against Organized Crime and Corruption after a marathon session, sentenced Tahir to 5 years in prison for 'Abuse of duty'. But with a shortened trial, the sentence was reduced to 3 years and 4 months of imprisonment.
Tahiri was convicted only for "Abuse of duty" while "escaping" the charges of "Corruption of high officials", "Trafficking of narcotics carried out in cooperation" and "Structured criminal group".
