Blackmail for giving property in the name of public officials, the police appeal

A number of still unidentified persons are blackmailing business owners or administrators in the name of public or state officials.

State Police Notice

The State Police, based on police intelligence, has intensified the work to prevent cases of blackmail for giving property through specialized structures.   

Based on recently identified and hit cases, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, as well as being triggered by several new reports to the State Police structures, from business owners or administrators, who have declared that they were blackmailed by citizens of unidentified, on behalf of public and state officials, to give sums of money on their behalf, the State Police appeals once again to all economic operators who:  

"Be alert to such cases of fraud and immediately report to the State Police structures, local or central, any suspected cases or if they are victims of this criminal activity".  

We emphasize that individuals or groups, in order to achieve their goal, are using various phone applications to communicate with economic operators, asking for donations on behalf of public or state officials. Therefore, anyone who finds such communications or has fallen prey to them, should report it immediately.

The State Police is maximally engaged and has all the necessary capacities to prevent and strike in time, criminal activity, in whatever field it appears.
