The dissolution of the Albanological Academy, Gurakuqi: They are trying to please Gjinushi
Historian Romeo Gurakuqi has commented on the government's plan to merge the Academy of Albanian Studies and merge it with the Academy of Sciences.
Invited to A2 CNN, Gurakuqi said that the entire government plan is an initiative that tries to please Skender Gjinushi.
The historian stated that the above two institutions are based on two completely different laws.
"The merger of the Academy of Albanological Studies is a long-standing initiative, undertaken by the Presidency of the Academy of Sciences. They are two institutions based on two completely different laws and decreed by the President of the Republic. It is impossible that an honorary institution, such as the Academy of Sciences, which operates under a completely different law, can interfere with the tax, work and independence of the Academy of Albanological Studies. It is trying to make fun of the characters of a past world, who have no place in today's Albania. Since his (Gjinushi's) arrival, a pressure has started on our institution. Hitting the entire legacy of 100 years in the field of scientific research is a very wrong venture" , said Gurakuqi.
