Dissolution of Police Station No. 2 in Tirana, Lala: The Police cannot function

The dissolution of Police Station No. 2 in Tirana, a few days after the arrest of Altin Morina, the highly wanted person by SPAK in the framework of the "Revanshi" operation, on the orders of the Director General of Police, Ilir Proda, has provoked numerous reactions.

Journalist Klodiana Lala, invited to MCN TV, said that Morina's arrest has led to the dismissal of the chief of police station no. 2, the chief of crimes, the OPGJ and half of the police station's agents, who have been transferred or joined the general patrol force in other police stations.

For this, Lala expressed that Proda should be transparent about this case and not allow the Police to function as a "criminal gang".

"The State Police should have officially come out today and made transparency about the scandal that occurred at Police Station No. 2. Almost the entire leadership of this police station has left, and the attempted resignation has not yet been accepted by the chief of the police station.

The transfer of the crime boss occurred after the arrest of Altin Morina, former effective head of the RENEA special forces, who was wanted by the Prosecutor's Office on suspicions related to narcotics and criminal groups. After this moment, there was also a crackdown on a gambling environment.

"I have asked Mr. Proda questions and I think that the situation at police station no. 2 is extremely problematic. The State Police cannot function as a criminal gang. Proda must be transparent about this case ," said Lala.
