Taxes compile the list of the 100 richest people in Albania

Taxes have completed the list of the 100 richest people in Albania.

The analysis was completed a few weeks ago by the Directorate of Specialized Control, a unit which was set up specifically to supervise the tax declarations of individuals and the payment of taxes from the income they receive.

In the calculation of the richest people, wages and bonuses from work, income from dividends, which are the profits that companies distribute to shareholders and bank savings, income from real estate, profits from stock exchanges or other sources were taken into consideration.

The tax plan includes expanding the list of the richest individuals to 200 by the end of this year and up to 300 by the end of next year.

The unit has collected data from the police, intelligence agencies, banks and secondary authorities used to make payments.

Initially, taxes will check the 100 richest if they have fully paid their tax obligations.

The anti-informality unit started its work in February of last year, while the Tax Force created by order of the Prime Minister started checks for declaring the income of individuals in May of this year.

Controls are already focused on the correct declaration of salaries in the construction, trade, insurance companies and media sectors./ Euronews Albania
