On Sunday Rama meeting with Albanians in Thessaloniki, Greek nationalists warn of protests
On Sunday, Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that he will hold a meeting with Albanians in Thessaloniki, Greece.
"TEXT TOMORROW I will return with a very special pleasure to the Albanians of Greece, this time in Thessaloniki, where history has connected us with a thousand threads and today unites us more than ever with our southern neighbors, as two European nations that for in a few years they will be side by side in the European Union ", writes Rama today on Facebook.
But it seems that Rama will not have the same reception in the capital of northern Greece as it did in Athens on May 12. This is after Greek nationalists have warned that they will welcome Rama with a protest on Sunday in Thessaloniki.
The call for a rally against the Albanian Prime Minister was made by the National Front, through an announcement on their official website.
"Declaring pride for Albania and for the Albanians living in Greece, Edi Rama comes again with the government's permission to organize a rally in Thessaloniki. His presence only after the persecution of Hellenism in Northern Epirus, his association with any anti-Hellenic initiative (relations with Erdogan), the imprisonment of Beler and the establishment of a municipal authority in accordance with his views is a challenge. He, his politics and those who support him are absolutely undesirable. The National Front calls for an end to tolerance towards Tirana", the announcement of the press office of the National Front states.
