The Special Prosecutor's Office suspended Granit Gjana, who held the post of prefect of Kukës, from office the day before. Gjana was presented today at the GJKKO where the session of questioning and verification of the conditions of the implementation of the security measure will be held.
Gjana was suspended from office on the charge of abusing public tenders.
According to SPAK's investigations, during the time he was deputy mayor of Kukës, Gjana prevented a company from participating in 2 tenders for "fuel purchase" in the amount of 21 million ALL.
According to the special prosecution, the violations were committed in 2023 during the time that Granit Gjana, as deputy chairman, was the holder of the Contracting Authority of the municipality of Kukës for these tenders.
