Nominated for President, former minister refuses: I no longer become a "bull ox"
Former Minister of Agriculture of the Democratic Party, Rexhep Uka refuses to be part of the race for President of Albania. He was nominated by Democratic MP Xhelal Mziu.
Uka said that he already knows the situation and politics well and that he does not want to be called a "bull ox". He also added that he has given all his thoughts and that this step is not right for him.
Uka stressed that he appreciates Mziu for the proposal. In his statement for "Panorama", he said he hinted that he is disappointed with politics.
"I called him and thanked him for the assessment. It is his opinion, but the proposal has nothing to do with me. I had no notice, nothing, and I was not even asked.
I see it as a very big responsibility. I have a point of view on this issue and I do very in-depth analysis of such things. I'm not younger now. I know the situation well. I grind it, I know politics too. This is the fact that restrains me. I no longer become like a "bull ox".
I am at the stage when the public opinion, the people who have supported me, the people who know me, I have tried that job, I have tried and I have said all my thoughts in all eras. In a way I have expressed what I feel, but I have also realized where I am. And it has nothing to do with me. "Anyway, I appreciate very much the fact that the deputy proposed me" , declared Uka.
