The investigation into the murder of 22-year-old Albanian woman Ilaria Sula has revealed new details, following statements from the alleged perpetrator, her ex-boyfriend Mark Samson. According to Italian media, Samson has reiterated that after killing Ilaria Sula in his bedroom on March 26, he took the body out of the house and loaded it into the car himself. But now, he also mentions a witness, a person who is said to have seen him pulling the suitcase containing Ilaria Sula's body.

His statement has raised questions for investigators, as the witness in question has yet to be found. "I loaded the suitcase into the car myself, another person saw me," Samson wrote in a letter submitted to Rome prosecutors.

According to investigators, Samson has repeatedly lied during the investigation. He has concealed important details, such as failing his studies and lying about the role of his mother, who allegedly helped him clean up the blood after the crime. In addition, he has attempted to divert the investigation by using the victim's phone to create false movements and create the idea that Ilaria was still alive.

Samson initially denied any involvement in the murder, but now, urged by his lawyers, he has begun to partially cooperate with justice. He now claims that he did not throw the phone down a manhole, as he had previously stated, but that the cellphone was hidden under the mattress in his parents' bedroom, where it was found by police.
