'World Questions' in Albania, BBC journalist: We wanted Sali Berisha to be part of it
BBC World Questions will hold a meeting today at Rogner in Tirana, where the focus of the discussion will be economic development, corruption, immigration and the cost of living by a panel of politicians and activists.
The BBC World Service programme, which puts people and their questions at the center of the debate, will be presented by BBC correspondent Jonny Dymond, who will moderate the debate which will be guided by questions from the public attending the event.
Journalist Dymond clarified in an interview that they wanted to invite the leader of the opposition, Sali Berisha, but due to house arrest, he cannot participate in the forum.
"We also contacted Sali Berisha's team and clarified the decision made, because he is under house arrest and cannot join us.
Since we started researching the program, he's been under house arrest. It's still there, so it can't come.
But its members and sympathizers were very open. We sent you every information. They can come to the program, be part of the audience. We have not excluded them at all," said the journalist.
We remind you that the day before this meeting, the BBC team, including the correspondent Jonny Dymond, were seen participating in the organizational rally like every evening on the Street of Hope, below the apartment of the head of the DP, Sali Berisha, accompanied by the journalist Alice Taylor .
