Israel removes visas for Kosovo

Israel and Kosovo signed today the agreement for the entry into force of the decision to remove visas for Kosovars.

The agreement was signed by the Minister of the Interior of Israel, Moshe Arbel and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla.

The removal of visas occurs after Kosovo recognized Israel, as part of the Washington agreement which Kosovo and Serbia signed on September 4, 2020.

In Israel, Kosovo opened its embassy in July 2021, shortly after Israel recognized independence.

Minister Gërvalla described the signing of this agreement as a proof of strong relations between Kosovo and Israel, which according to her will make it easier for our citizens to visit Israel and create cultural and professional ties.

"This agreement that we signed and this decision to remove visas for the citizens of our two countries will open a new chapter in the promotion of our country, economic cooperation and development, the educational development of young people as well as the realization of joint projects and initiatives between citizens and our countries in the future" , said Minister Gërvalla.
