UN Resolution/ Kurti: For peace in the Balkans, Serbia's responsibility

The Prime Minister of the country, Albin Kurti, has again commented on the adoption of the UN Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica.

In a post on his X account, Kurti wrote that the genocide in Srebrenica marks Europe's most brutal massacre since World War II.

"For peace in the Balkans, Serbia's responsibility must be proven and further efforts are needed to bring the perpetrators to justice," Kurti wrote.


In the General Assembly of the United Nations, the Resolution on Srebrenica passed with 84 votes in favor. 193 countries participated in this vote, 19 were against and 68 abstained, during the vote the countries did not have the right of veto.

With this resolution, July 11 will be designated as the "International Day of Reflection and Remembrance of the 1995 Genocide in Srebrenica".
