Seasonal allergies, what do you need to know and how to protect yourself?

The month of April brings with it the flowering of nature, but also great concerns for those who suffer from seasonal allergies. With increased levels of pollen in the air, many citizens are facing symptoms such as constant sneezing, itchy eyes, runny nose, and feeling tired.

According to allergists, the most affected are people with allergies to tree pollen, grass and weeds, who are highly active in this period. Children and the elderly are also more susceptible to weather changes and air pollution, factors that worsen symptoms.

What can you do to relieve symptoms?

-Avoid going out at times with a high concentration of pollen (especially in the morning).

-Keep windows closed during the day and ventilate in the evening.

-Wash clothes and hair after each outdoor outing.

-Use sunglasses to protect your eyes from pollen.

-Consult a doctor about the use of antihistamines if symptoms worsen.

Doctors suggest that timely care helps prevent more serious complications, such as allergic asthma or chronic sinusitis.
