Bella Hadid reacts harshly against those who oppose the hijab

Palestinian-Dutch supermodel Bella Hadid has published a series of posts defending women and girls wearing the hijab, amid attacks and government crackdowns on those wearing the Islamic headscarf around the world.

Hadid called on the governments of France, India, Belgium and the Canadian province of Quebec - all of which are considering or enforcing the ban on hijab in public - to withdraw from policies that are "discriminatory against Muslim women".

"It is not your job to tell women what they should or should not wear, especially when it comes to trust and security, " she said.

Hadid also gave her support to Hoda al-Jamaa, a Muslim teenager in New Zealand who was the victim of a suspected hate crime earlier this month.
