The 53-year-old said for the new issue of the magazine 'Harper's Bazaar' that:

"People often talk about left and right, up and down, right and wrong, good and bad. I don't believe in those terms. Art exists in the gray area. I've been spoken to in ways that now I can probably I used to go to HR and complain, but those conversations I had early in my career made me a better actress. It's important to be honest with each other."

"There's an exercise you do in drama school where you write down everything one character says about themselves and then you write down what every other character says about them. Somewhere between those often conflicting, contradictory things lies a version of the truth. One of the phrases I just can't say is 'My truth.' I mean, the truth is the truth, right? If I get a script and I can imagine myself acting in it, I have to put it down and let it go someone else to do it. Because I think the process of making it and ultimately the experience of watching it is going to be exquisite. It's so much more exciting to be out of your comfort zone."
