Madrid


Madrid gets extremely hot every summer – so much so that residents often take months-long vacations away from the city to beat the heat. Spring is the best time to visit Madrid if you're looking to experience unforgettable memories in Spain's capital. You can walk to and from the city's best attractions, including El Retiro Park and Plaza Mayor, without getting too tired. If you don't want to rub elbows with a lot of people, avoid visiting during Semana Santa in March or April.


Maldives

This island nation in the Indian Ocean promises pristine beaches and plenty of outdoor activities in every season, including spring. In March and April, visitors will find excellent conditions for snorkeling. Although the chance of rain increases in May, showers usually pass quickly and you're more likely to score more affordable accommodation during this low-season month.

Amsterdam

Spring is an ideal time to plan a St. Lucia getaway, before the island's wet season begins in June. From March to May, daytime temperatures drop, so visitors can spend their days soaking up the sun on palm-fringed beaches and hiking the volcanic Pitons. Visiting late in the season has added perks, including cheaper airfare and hotel rates and the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival, which takes place in May.
