Emma Thompson talks about her nude scene and acceptance of bodies: Nobody cares about women's pleasure

It was not an easy decision for Emma Thompson to shoot a nude scene for her critically acclaimed new film, "Good Luck To You, Leo Grande." It is a transformative moment for her character Nancy, a retired religious studies teacher and mother of two, who dares to hire a beautiful young sex worker (Daryl McCormack) for the night after spending over five decades living strictly according to the book.

"She is someone you can relate to," the actress told PEOPLE in this week's issue, referring to her character. "She is a very ordinary person, doing something extraordinary."

The film follows her quest for pleasure, confident that sex is more than the usual bedroom act experienced in her marriage - yet she is afraid to push herself to discover more.

"I think women's satisfaction has never been anyone's priority," says Thompson, 63, whose character makes a to-do list for Leo on dating activities.

"We are all used to comparing ourselves to bodies that, in general, are not what human beings have ," she said.
