The director of the movie "Titanic", James Cameron admits that Jack

Titanic marks 25 years since its release in 1997 and the film's Oscar-winning director James Cameron is confident that Jack can survive the door with Rose. The emotional end of Titanic at the time raised the question of whether Jack (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) could be saved if he climbed aboard that floating piece of wood with Rose. To find the answer, footage has been released of Cameron and a team of scientific experts conducting an experiment.

The experiment was conducted for The National Geographic, “Titanic: 25 Years Later With James Cameron,” which will air in the US on February 5, 2023. In the footage, Cameron and crew have recreated the iconic scene to explore specific scenarios to discover if Jack could have held on to the floating piece of wood without drowning or freezing to death him or Rose (played by Kate Winslet). Cameron told Postmedia in December that:

"We've done a scientific study to put this whole thing to rest and put an end to it once and for all."

Although at the time the 68-year-old director admitted that he felt that "there was no way they could have survived", now it seems that he has come to another observation on the television program itself. A clip from the documentary features him working with scientists, as well as two stunt actors the same body mass as the film's actual lead, to test various theories. Cameron after the first test, which sees them both go up to the door, says that:

"Jack and Rose are able to get on the log, but now they are both submerged in dangerous levels of frozen water."

In the final rehearsal, the team decided to recreate the scene from the beginning by having the stands perform everything that Jack and Rose go through before finding the door to make it even closer to the real scenario. Rose also offers Jack her life jacket to help protect him, which may result in a positive outcome so far. Cameron explains to the camera:

"He went into a place where if we designed this, he just might have made it until the lifeboat got there. Jack may have lived, but there are a lot of variables."
