Albanian politician in North Macedonia declared 'non grata' by US

The US State Department has added Albanian politician and former Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Artan Grubi, and Court of Appeals judge Enver Behxheti to the United States' 'blacklist' due to their involvement in "major corruption".

On Anti-Corruption Day, the US State Department has compiled a list of 14 people from around the world who, according to the US, have aided in crime and corruption.

“The Department of State is designating 14 individuals, including immediate family members, for involvement in significant corruption and one official for his involvement in a serious human rights violation, pursuant to Section 7031(c) of the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Annual Act (“Section 7031(c)”), declaring them ineligible for entry into the United States. The Department of State is also taking further steps to impose visa restrictions on dozens of individuals pursuant to certain policies pursuant to Section 212(a)(3)(C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, ” the State Department’s statement reads.
