Elon Musk has become the first person to reach a fortune of more than $400 billion, according to estimates from Forbes and Bloomberg. His fortune consists mainly of shares in electric vehicle company Tesla and space company SpaceX.
The American magazine "Forbes" estimated Musk's wealth at $431.2 billion, while "Bloomberg" said it was approximately $447 billion. The increase in the price of Tesla shares after the US presidential election has contributed significantly to the enrichment of the 53-year-old.
Speculation suggests that Tesla could benefit from Musk's close relationship with US President-elect Donald Trump, whom he supported with millions of dollars during the election campaign. In addition to his main companies, Musk also runs the X platform, the artificial intelligence developer xAI, and Neuralink, which works on brain implants.
In second place is Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, with an estimated fortune of over $240 billion.
